WHEB’s fund in Australia upgraded from ‘Recommended’ to ‘Highly recommended’ by Lonsec

Monday, 16 July 2018: The Pengana WHEB Sustainable Impact Fund has been upgraded from a ‘Recommended’ rating to a ‘Highly Recommended’ rating by Lonsec Research Pty Ltd (‘Lonsec’), one of Australia’s leading ratings agencies.

As a reminder, WHEB’s partnership with Australian firm Pengana Capital Group, announced in June last year, has created the Pengana WHEB Sustainable Impact Fund. It is a retail available product for the Australian market and mirrors the strategy of the FP WHEB Sustainability Fund in the UK.

Lonsec’s first review of the fund was in January 2018 when it received a ‘Recommended’ rating. The ‘Highly Recommended’ rating indicates that Lonsec has “very strong conviction the financial product can generate risk adjusted returns in line with relevant objectives and the financial product is considered a preferred entry point to this asset class or strategy”. Lonsec’s Head of Research Libby Newman sat down with Ted Franks, Fund Manager for the Pengana WHEB Sustainable Impact Fund, to discuss how the fund builds its investment strategy and how its impact mandate differs from the more traditional ESG approach. The video interview is available on this link.
